Pairc na Realta from the drive
The house is built on a hillside with mountains behind and fine views to the sea in front. A 120 metre drive leads up to the house with parking for a minimum of three cars at the top. There is a central courtyard behind the house, and a large slate terrace for outside eating to the side. Natural stone has been used extensively both in the house construction, and the terraced garden.

The nearest small beach is about a kilometre from the house. Rossbeigh is a five minute drive away, and is a sandy spit extending about 4 km in to Dingle Bay. It is a wonderful beach with safe swimming for children at the end of the beach closest to the Ross Inn. There is also a smaller safe beach at Kells Bay, approximately 15 minutes away.
Sunset over the bay from the terrace
In winter there can be fierce Atlantic storms roaring in, but the house has withstood them well for thirty five years. Double glazing throughout the living area, newly installed cavity wall insulation, recently renewed central heating, and a good turf (peat) fire keep us cosy even on the worst nights. In summer the weather is changeable, but very often even after an unsettled day the sun bursts through before night time to provide amazing sunsets.
And occasionally in the early morning a mist covers the bay and the hills across the water
